The project Scaling Reused Car Parts through Circular Value Chains in Nordic Insurance aims to accelerate the shift from linear to circular automotive repair in the Nordic region. Today, most vehicles are repaired with new parts. This increases emissions, costs, and dependency on imported critical raw materials (CRMs). At the same time, high-quality reused OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts from dismantled vehicles are widely available but remain underutilised due to fragmented information flows, lacking or misaligned incentives, and entrenched routines.

The ZEN-SEA project aims to establish a scalable, waste-free Nordic biorefinery for seaweed and to demonstrate a complete value chain from the coast to end products based on marine biomass.

This project serves to position the Nordic cities as drivers of circular innovation. Using the existing organization, structure, and our proven model for accelerated innovation in the Nordic Smart City Network, with this project we will go from accelerated innovation between the cities to implementing circular fast-track solutions.
