Windmills in the ocean

Northern Europe’s leading maritime tech ecosystem by 2030

Project 2025 Closed

Although the industry is a multibillion-dollar industry with significant green and digital transformation potential, new solutions are often held back by limited access to test environments, high entry costs, and a conservative industry culture. The Nordics, with their strong maritime legacy and port infrastructure, are well-positioned to lead the industry’s transformation.

The project will map Nordic T&Ds, identify SME testing needs, and develop new business models to support sustainable maritime technologies. It aims to connect complementary port strengths, such as green mobility in Gothenburg, CCUS in Copenhagen, and blue bioeconomy in Hirtshals, and open ports to SMEs testing, validating and scaling new solutions.

Partners

Copenhagen Malmö Port (SE, project leader), Greenport North (DK)
