At the same time, the project will lay the groundwork for Nordic Innovation House Silicon Valley to serve as a unifying Nordic platform in the region and facilitate thematic initiatives in areas such as AI, quantum technology, space technology, clean energy, and health technology.
In the short term, the work will result in a clear structure for services and offerings, a concrete implementation plan, and enhanced visibility. In the longer term, this will lead to increased relevance and value for Nordic companies, a strengthened Nordic presence and greater impact in Silicon Valley, as well as better coordination among Nordic stakeholders.
Background
Nordic Innovation House is an established platform for Nordic collaboration in global innovation ecosystems, with Silicon Valley serving as the most mature hub. Previous analyses demonstrate clear Nordic added value, but also highlight the need for a clearer value proposition, improved governance, and a more robust business model.
Through dialogue with the board and partners, further clarification has been provided that Nordic Innovation House should evolve toward a hub-based structure with a clearer role as an enabler of Nordic initiatives. To achieve this, a steering group for the business development project is being established, while the project plan and overall direction are being endorsed by the board, and operations are being supplemented with thematic initiatives. The current project directly addresses these needs by defining a scalable model, clarifying the service offering and governance, and enabling further thematic development.
