Given recent geopolitical developments, Europe must strengthen its position and unite to remain the best place to build and scale deeptech. This means moving not only from research excellence to commercialization, but also ensuring rapid market adoption. Consequently, deeptech startups and scaleups have become critical actors in solving global challenges through emerging technologies such as quantum computing, advanced materials, photonics, semiconductors, AI, robotics, marine autonomy, and life sciences like bioinformatics.
Since the Nordics have a long history of cross-border collaboration and trade and stand out as innovation leaders. This creates a unique opportunity to lead the change and address global challenges in an efficient and credible way while also strengthening the Nordics.
Background
Nordic Five Tech (N5T) is a well-established organization consisting of the leading tech universities across the Nordics. For the last 20 years, N5T universities have worked together to strengthen Nordic collaboration through joint initiatives. The next phase is to move into a more operational phase and enable Nordic deeptech startups to propel forward on their journey towards becoming scaleups through regional expansion and market access with new networks, community and business opportunities. For N5T, this project is the next step in deepening the ties and building for the future. The project believe that Nordic deeptech companies can and should scale at home to bring even more positive impact to the Nordic economies and strengthen our position in the world.
