Your immediate team will consist of communications advisors in all the Nordic capitals.
The position is part of the Norden i Fokus team. You will be based at the Nordic Center in Oslo and employed by Nordic Innovation. Professionally, you will belong to the communications department of the Nordic Council of Ministers in Copenhagen.
Norden i Focus is an extension of the communications department of the Nordic Council of Ministers' secretariat. As the representative of the Nordic Council of Ministers in Oslo, you will have primary responsibility for activities that put Nordic intergovernmental cooperation on the agenda in Norway. The most visible of these activities are related to the celebration of Nordic Day on March 23 and the planning and implementation of other major events, such as democracy festivals such as Arendalsuka.
The Norden i Fokus team works both with a common concept for profiling in the Nordic region and with independent responsibility for activities in their respective countries. Press relations, sales and networking are an important part of the job. You will also be responsible for the budget and administration related to the activities for which you are responsible.
Tasks you can expect:
- Putting the Nordic region on the agenda in Norway through networking, press relations/sales and events, among other things.
- Developing concepts for promoting the Nordic region digitally and physically, together with a team of five equal project managers/communications advisors based in each of the Nordic countries.
- Actively monitoring societal developments and politics in Norway and the Nordic region.
- Administration and budgeting related to the planning and implementation of activities in Norway.
As a communications advisor for the Nordic Council of Ministers, you are expected to:
- Have a extencive network within politics, society, culture, and/or media in Norway, and be good at establishing new relationships. Knowledge of public administration would be an advantage.
- Be good at planning and keeping track of details.
- Be creative, innovative, and skilled in digital solutions, and be able to publish on social media.
- Have good language skills in Norwegian and English, and be able to express yourself excellently both verbally and in writing.
- Have relevant education in journalism, media, social sciences, or equivalent.
- At least five years of work experience in communications, preferably with experience in planning digital campaigns/profiling/events.

A four-year contract in accordance with the rules of the Nordic Council of Ministers, with the possibility of extension for a further four years. You will have an interesting and independent job in an exciting international environment.
Government employees are entitled to leave of absence to work in Nordic organizations. Employees recruited from countries other than Norway are entitled to compensation in connection with relocation outside their home country. The place of work is the Nordic Center in central Oslo. The current policy is up to two days of home office per week. You will also be expected to attend some team meetings in Copenhagen.
Some travel within the Nordic region must be expected.
