The Future of Nordic Mobility in Hamburg

The ITS World Congress is one of the largest and most important events within smart mobility and the digitalisation of transportation.

In September, more than 15,000 participants gathered in Hamburg to catch up with the latest trends in the future of mobility.

This year, the Nordic and Estonian ITS organizations joined forces at the Nordic+ Pavilion to show that the Nordics and the Baltics can deliver the mobility solutions needed for a sustainable future.

Nordic Innovation joined the pavilion to talk about how Nordic cooperation can drive innovation and present some of the most innovative mobility projects in the region.

The Future of Nordic Mobility in Hamburg

The Nordic countries and Estonia joined forces at the ITS World Congress 2021 in Hamburg to show how businesses and organizations in the Nordic region can change the way people and goods move.

The Nordic+ pavilion at the ITS World Congress is now an established concept after previously having been co-funded by Nordic Innovation. The pavilion presents a great opportunity for Nordic and Baltic businesses to expand their market opportunities and their networks – both globally and across the Nordic borders.

This year, Nordic Innovation joined the pavilion as partners to share our experiences with—and some of the results from—our Nordic Mobility and Connectivity program.

Almost three years into the program, Nordic Innovation have brought more than 100 actors within the Nordic mobility sector together to combine our different competences and strongholds to develop a more sustainable, connected, integrated and seamless transport system in the Nordic region.

Sharing experiences and results

Our Senior Innovation Adviser and Head of Program for the Nordic Smart Mobility and Connectivity program, Nina Egeli, took to the stage at the Nordic+ Pavilion to share Nordic Innovation's experiences with how Nordic cooperation can drive innovation and how we have built a Nordic mobility universe consisting of the most innovative Nordic projects that change the way people and goods move.

About the Nordic+ pavilion

About 60 Nordic and Baltic businesses and organizations were represented at the Nordic+ pavilion at this year's ITS World Congress in Hamburg to network and expand their market opportunities.

"For Applied Autonomy, it was especially useful to participate in the Nordic Pavilion to establish new contacts, and also find new collaboration partners and customers. It's a great place to show what we do and who we are, both on stage and at the booth.

Rebecca Ronke, COO, Applied Autonomy

In addition, the pavilion hosted a busy program with keynotes and events that truely positioned the Nordics and Baltics as frontrunners in mobility.
