About the forum

World Circular Economy Forum is a global initiative of Finland and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. The forum brings together business leaders, policymakers and experts from around the world to discuss circular roadmaps, showcase circular economy solutions and discuss how to scale the circular economy for people, businesses and planet. The purpose is to look at how companies can develop their businesses and sustain their competitiveness through circular economy solutions, and how the circular economy contributes to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

World Circular Economy Forum is the most important international platform in the transition to circular economy with partners and participants from EU, UN and other international organizations within circular economy. An important mission for the forum has been inclusion and global reach in order to maximize impact. This year we also aim to put Nordic solutions and cooperation on the agenda.

From Kigali to Helsinki

After last year’s successful forum in Kigali, WCEF is back in the Nordics and Finland. Throughout two days of program, and two days of accelerator sessions we will be zooming in e.g., on finance, foodforestry, future skills, metrics, mining and energy, regenerative growth as well as road mapstrade and value chains, engaging the voices of young generations to top level discussion. All while focusing on circular solutions for nature and the economy.

Through active support and participation in WCEF, the Nordics are an important partner in the development and distribution of circular solutions globally with the opportunity of attracting talent, capital and business opportunities.

The forum will consist of different plenaries and parallel sessions with a wide range of relevant topics and discussions, including dedicated spaces for expo, exhibitions and networking. Companies and organizations large and small are welcome to apply for a spot at the WCEF2023 Expo Area. All partners are also encouraged to host Accelerator Sessions on the 1-2 June to continue the discussions and momentum from the forum.

Physical attendance during WCEF2023 will be by invite only, but you can follow the whole program via stream online and the WCEF app.

Host a side event in support of WCEF2023!

Side Events can be organised by anyone, online or in person. These independent events can be held anytime throughout the year, but their timing cannot overlap with the main Forum on 30–31 May or the Accelerator Sessions on 1–2 June.

Applications on rolling basis!

WCEF and Nordic Innovation

We have supported World Circular Economy Forum since 2018, as a part of Nordic Innovations Circular Business Models program. The program is one of the eight initiatives launched by the five Nordic ministers of trade and industry, to make the Nordics the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.

The aim of the program is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy in the Nordics and to develop the Nordics further as agile frontrunners within circular economy and circular business models.
