The Nordic AI & Quantum Node is a new strategic initiative aimed at solidifying the Nordics as a leading global centre within applied AI and quantum.
The Nordic AI & Quantum Node is a joint pilot initiative developed in partnership between Nordic Innovation, Swenode.AI, Automation Region, Business Finland, Innovation Norway and Innovation Centre Denmark. The Node will serve as a coordinated platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and global positioning, ensuring the region stays at the forefront of ethical, human-centred AI and quantum innovation.
Closer collaborations across borders
The initiative focuses on strengthening the Nordic ecosystem by fostering closer collaboration between the region's ecosystem actors, researchers, industry leaders, and scale-ups to accelerate cross-border innovation. It is designed to create strong synergies and unlock greater collective value by aligning existing capabilities, program, and investments across the region, ensuring that shared resources generate substantial impact.
Through launching joint global programs and structured knowledge-sharing activities, the initiative aims to accelerate AI and quantum applications with a strong focus on Nordic values.
Meanwhile, the initiative enhances the region's global positioning and influence by presenting it as a trusted, high-impact environment for AI and quantum investment and talent attraction. By acting as a unified ecosystem on the global stage, the Nordics can amplify their voice, visibility, and competitiveness.
To support these ambitions, a series of flagship activities are planned for the launch in 2026, including high-level events, curated delegations and exclusive matchmaking sessions held in connection with major Nordic and international conferences such as NVIDIA GTC 2026, Almedalveckan, Arendalsuka, TECHBBQ, and SLUSH.
Four strategic focus areas
Industry
The Nordic AI & Quantum Node will enable established Nordic industries to accelerate the adoption of AI through transatlantic Silicon Valley collaborations and access to world-leading AI expertise. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness, productivity and resilience of core Nordic sectors by providing responsible and scalable AI solutions.
Scale-ups
For Nordic scale-ups, the initiative provides access to the US market, Venture Capital, and strategic Silicon Valley partners. The goal is to accelerate growth, boost international visibility, and nurture the next generation of Nordic AI and Quantum scaleups.
Quantum
The Nordic AI & Quantum Node will connect the Nordic quantum experts with the Silicon Valley quantum ecosystem, to explore next-generation capabilities and create opportunities for long-term transatlantic collaborations. By fostering early transatlantic Silicon Valley collaborations, the initiative aims to establish the Nordics as leaders in quantum-enabled innovation and long-term technological development.
Applied AI in Precision Health
The initiative focuses on translating AI research in precision health into real-world solutions by collaborating with the world's most forefront universities as well as technology leaders in Silicon Valley. Leveraging Nordic data assets, trust frameworks and clinical expertise, the aim is to promote the development of ethical, secure and patient-centred AI in health systems increasing the precision in the prevention.
On 13-16 March, the project invites companies to participate in a delegation visit to NVIDIA GTC.
