Rambøll and Happy42 Awarded Contract for Planning and Executing a Nordic AI and Data Hackathon

To help position the Nordics as a leading region in digitalization, AI and responsible use of data, a goal set by the Nordic ministers of business and innovation, Nordic Innovation is running the AI and Data program in the period 2021-2024.

To demonstrate the capabilities and solutions that can be developed with public data in the Nordic countries, Nordic Innovation has submitted an Invitation to tender for planning and executing a Nordic AI and Data Hackathon, which was one of the recommendations by the Nordic Business ministers at their meeting in September 2020.

Nordic Innovation received 12 offers. After a through selection process, Rambøll Management Consulting, in partnership with Happy42, was evaluated as having submitted the best offer in all award criteria.

“Rambøll and Happy 42 demonstrated in their offer a strong understanding of the assignment and showed a very good insights in the public datasets to be made available for the hackathon. They also outlined a thorough process for how the digital AI solutions developed in the hackathon will be supported going forward in collaboration with partners. Rambøll and Happy42 could refer to relevant examples of previous work that have documented good results, and we are very excited to start our cooperation”, says Svein Berg, Managing Director of Nordic Innovation.

Rambøll Management Consulting and Happy42 will now start the process of planning and executing the hackathon, which is tentatively planned for February 2022.

”We at Rambøll and Happy42 are really happy and excited to do a Nordic hackathon on AI and data. There is a treasure trove of public data in the Nordics, but a lack of awareness and transparency. Hackathons are a great way of bringing together public and private stakeholders, startups and AI talents to create visibility and awareness around the Nordic Innovation AI and Data program, and to lay the foundation for innovative Nordic solutions with real business and societal potential”, says Emil Bjørn Ørskov, Manager at Rambøll Management Consulting.
