A sustainable city is a healthy city
Nordic Innovation's Managing Director Svein Berg participated in the event via video to tell the audience about the on-going Nordic-China cooperation taking place in the Nordic Sustainable Cities special initiative where six Chinese cities are partners together with the Nordic embassies and trade promotion agencies in China.
As a follow-on to the concept of Nordic sustainable cities, Nordic Innovation is also working with health issues in cities. Berg used to opportunity to show the clear link between healthy and sustainable cities by presenting the Nordic Healthy Cities project, where cities from the Nordic Smart City Network has set up five agile pilot projects that are aimed at addressing pressing health issues.
The cities collaborate and learn from each other and they work with Nordic companies to come up with solutions which are tested in the cities and made in such a way that they can be set up in other cities in the network with minimal effort. Nordic Innovation is co-financing the Nordic Healthy Cities project though the Health, Demography and Quality of Life program.
The Nordic Sustainable Cities special initiative is an effort to promote Nordic solutions for sustainable, liveable and smart cities. It is run by Nordic Innovation as is one of six flagship projects under the Nordic prime miniters' initiative Nordic Solutions to Global Challenges, which aims is to share knowledge and experience from the Nordic region to help reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative is coordinated by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The Health, Demography and Quality of Life program is our effort to reach the vision of making the Nordics will be the most sustainable and integrated health region in the world, providing the best possible personalised health care for all its citizens by 2030.
