The event was co-hosted by Nordic Innovation together with Innovation Centre Denmark, the Icelandic Embassy in Beijing, Business Sweden, Business Finland and Innovation Norway. Officials and experts from the Nordic trade promotion and innovation agencies and Nordic companies used the arena to exchange ideas and experiences with smart cities and how to move closer to a green and sustainable economy.

A sustainable city is a healthy city
Nordic Innovation's Managing Director Svein Berg participated in the event via video to tell the audience about the on-going Nordic-China cooperation taking place in the Nordic Sustainable Cities special initiative where six Chinese cities are partners together with the Nordic embassies and trade promotion agencies in China.
As a follow-on to the concept of Nordic sustainable cities, Nordic Innovation is also working with health issues in cities. Berg used to opportunity to show the clear link between healthy and sustainable cities by presenting the Nordic Healthy Cities project, where cities from the Nordic Smart City Network has set up five agile pilot projects that are aimed at addressing pressing health issues.
The cities collaborate and learn from each other and they work with Nordic companies to come up with solutions which are tested in the cities and made in such a way that they can be set up in other cities in the network with minimal effort. Nordic Innovation is co-financing the Nordic Healthy Cities project though the Health, Demography and Quality of Life program.
