The event was organized in collaboration with Dealroom.co and the main purpose was to launch the first results of the report: The Nordic Scaleup Landscape 2022. The report is written by Dealroom.co and it takes a deep look into the leading scaleup companies in the different Nordic countries and the Nordics as a whole.
“The report contains for the first time ever a list of Top1000 Nordic scaleups as well as Top50 rankings in each Nordic country. By doing this we want to showcase Nordic scaleup entrepreneurs that have navigated their tough growth journey by innovating, achieving high growth and creating jobs”, says Anna-Maija Sunnanmark, Head of Program for Nordic Scalers.
“Our scaleups need visibility, exposure and role models. Through this report we can make a contribution into the right direction”, she continues.
The Nordic Scaleup Landscape 2022 report will be published later in this Autumn.

Need for improvement of ecosystem-wide support in the Nordics
The report launch was followed by a panel discussion with five experts from the Nordic scaleup ecosystem.
There was a general agreement that the Nordics need to improve their ecosystem-wide support for scaleup companies across the Nordic borders to increase their potential of becoming the next success stories.
“We have a huge job in our ecosystem to support scaleups becoming large companies and unicorns”, says Mia Grosen, Founder of Canute, a company that advises scaleups in entering new markets. “Access to funding is not enough. The companies also need concrete sparring on how to grow and enter new markets and we need to encourage and show them how to think bigger than their home market”, she continues.
“Companies need to get trained on for instance how to set up a subsidiary in another country. Having support that focuses on this will greatly increase the success rate for the companies in the new market. But just as important, having a mentor that can help and provide input in the period after you have set up your subsidiary would also be a great benefit”, says Bjarne Schøn, Founder of Ditra ApS, a company specialized in digital transformation strategies and innovation.
The panel also included Kristian Grum, Special Advisor at the Danish Business Authority and Louis Geoffrey-Terryn and Christiana Manzocco from Dealroom.co.
