Through this project, we seek to support Nordic Small and Medium sized companies in their efforts to export health and care solutions to the UK market. Through collaboration with NHS (National Health Services in the UK) and the Academic Health Science Networks, the project aim to provide Nordic companies with insight on the UK health care market.
The Nordics are known for being ahead in digitalization of both private and public services, and as companies are following international standards for developing secure solutions that are regulatory compliant, the Nordics are in a unique position for exports with a broad portfolio of market ready evidence-based solutions. In this regard, Nordic SMEs would benefit from a joint Nordic national team to help them enter the international health-tech scene.
The UK is an attractive market for Nordic companies. The NHS is the biggest public health system in the world, treating about 1 million patients a day, and represents major market opportunities with attractive patient databases for clinical trials and investigations.
However, it can be challenging for Nordic companies to grasp the decision making processes in health and social care in the UK. Procurement is often complex and involve different organizations responsible for different aspects of policy setting and delivery.
This project presents a unique opportunity to overcome some of these barriers for Nordic companies.
