Nordic Forum on Raw Materials

Project 2023 - 2025 Active

The overall objective for the Sustainable Minerals Program is to position the Nordics as the frontrunners within global sustainable mineral production.

The Nordic Forum on Raw Materials is a network to strengthen cooperation across the mining and minerals sector in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, and Greenland. The network aims at consolidating the Nordics as role model in global, sustainable mineral production.

With keywords being knowledge, networking and news, the Nordic Forum on Raw Materials brings together professionals in the mining and minerals sector, in business, academia, politics, finance, and from relevant authorities.

The network is a digital platform where members can connect, stay up to date with Nordic news, and share information.

Outcome of the Nordic Forum on Raw Materials

The main outcome of the Nordic Forum on Raw Materials is a series of summits, seminars and a podcast.

An annual summit will be established consisting of sessions and an exhibition/expo area with a focus on "experiencing" what is discussed on stage through products, minerals and innovations.

The summit plan is:

  1. The first summit takes place in Stockholm, 3-4 October 2024
  2. The second summit takes place in Oslo, March 2025
  3. The third summit takes place in Helsinki, autumn 2025/spring 2026

Besides the annual summit, a series of seminars will be created at Nordic universities between the summits to keep the discussions and topics alive.
