Hack for Earth

Project 2021 - 2022 Active

The Foundation works to support citizen-driven innovation and research and the development of socially beneficial and sustainable solutions and services, primarily in the digital field, with involvement from various parties in society. The overall aim of the Hack for Earth Foundation is to promote fulfillment of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Dream, hack and pitch for Earth

During the period May – August 2021, the interactive campaign Dream for Earth aimed at forming the basis for the challenges to be addressed during the hackathon, with the objective of finding out which of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals are of greatest importance for the people of the world to achieve by 2045. The challenges will be formulated in seven categories relating to the Sustainable Development Goals.

In October – November 2021, the online hackathon Hack for Earth opens to teams from throughout the world, with the aim of finding solutions to the challenges identified with the help of the results of Dream for Earth.

The last part is Pitch for Earth which will happen during Earth Hour Day, on 26 March 2022. Here a presentation in Dubai of the winning teams and their solutions, and how they have developed during the period since the conclusion of Hack for Earth will take place.
