The eHealth Award is an annual award to Nordic small businesses that have an innovative eHealth solution or product that has shown benefits for patients, citizens, healthcare professionals or healthcare organisations.
This year, Icelandic health company Sidekick Health ended up as winners after having been one of three finalists together with Swedish-Norwegian Boneprox and Swedish Cuviva. They will receive SEK 50 000 in prize money, 10 hours of publicity work provided by Miltton Group, speaking slot at relevant conference such as Cerner’s European Collaboration Forum in London 2021, and publicity in social media.
A step towards a sustainable and integreated health region
The eHealth Award is a cooperation between Vitalis, Sahlgrenska Science Park, HealthTech Nordic and Cerner. Although not supported ny Nordic Innovation in any official way, the award is their response to our vision of making the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated region by 2030.
The award is an effort to draw attention to the great digital innovations that exist in the Nordics today, as they can contribute to more sustainable and integrated care, and more engaged patients and citizens.
Reducing stress on healthcare systems
Sidekick Health offers a digital platform for clinical treatment and was recently featured in our Nordic Digital Health Solutions for COVID-19 publication.
The company was commissioned to reduce some of the strain in Iceland with its nationwide COVID-19 solution. Using the platform, patients self-report on a panel of symptoms and measurements at multiple times through the day. Artificial intelligence then categorises cases by severity, allowing healthcare professionals to monitor and manage a large number of patients and tend to the most acute cases first.
