Press Release: NOK 16 Million to Projects Developing Sustainable Mobility in the Nordic Region

14 applications were submitted to the second Nordic Smart Mobility and Connectivity call and the projects included a total of 89 partners from all over the Nordic region. After being assessed by Nordic Innovation and an extern Nordic panel, four projects were selected for funding.

The call had a budget of NOK 16 million and the selected four projects will receive NOK 4 million each. The projects will run from 2020 to 2023.

"The selected projects are very timely. They address climate change challenges, present solutions that may foster change in travel behavior, transport modes and infrastructure — and aim for environmental-and people-friendly solutions, says Nina Egeli, Senior Innovation Adviser at Nordic Innovation.

The overall aim of the call was to promote sustainable growth, innovation, entrepreneurship and global competitiveness of Nordic companies while speeding up the transition to a more sustainable and connected mobile future.

New solutions through Nordic collaboration

The project partners include partners from all over the Nordic region and complement existing mobility projects funded by Nordic Innovation mobility projects.

"We are happy to see the engagement and investment from both established and new actors to this call. The four funded projects bring together bright minds from all the Nordic countries and I am sure they will bring us closer to more sustainable and innovative mobility systems and provide new opportunities for Nordic businesses", says Nordic Innovation’s Managing Director Svein Berg
