“We are very satisfied with the outcome of the application process and the total of 39 applications. Based on aspects such as industry mix, cross country collaboration and mix of circular initiatives, the jury and Nordic Innovation landed on 10 highly qualified collaborations,” says Hanna Törmänen, Advisor at Nordic Innovation. “We are now looking forward to starting the actual Accelerator”.
Broad industry representation
Together with the Accenture, Nordic Innovation called for Nordic collaborations/partnerships that are already working on data sharing initiatives within circularity to take part in a new Nordic Circular Accelerator program.
From the 39 applications, the majority came from Sweden followed by Norway and Finland. The applied collaborations have a broad industry representation, but with a majority of companies from manufacturing, textiles and construction.
“It is great to see that we have managed to reach out to collaborations from so many different industries. It shows that this is an important initiative and that it is useful for many types of companies,” says Hanna Törmänen.
The collaborations are also selected based on circular use cases such as circular design, resource recovery, product use extension and traceability. “It is also noteworthy that there is a mix between all use cases, and that the majority of collaborations have a mix of multiple circular business models”.
“We see data sharing as a concrete tool to accelerate the circular transition"
– Hanna Törmänen, Advisor at Nordic Innovation
Accelerating circularity through data sharing
The aim of the new Nordic Circular Accelerator program is to help Nordic companies and their partners to build capacity and knowledge on how to use data sharing as a tool in their circular transition.
Through 12 dynamic sessions, the collaborations will receive new knowledge, tailored guidance and insights to develop their circular initiatives even further. “With this program we want to give companies and their partners an opportunity to network with other collaborations, receive support from experts and to develop their knowledge within data sharing,” says Hanna Törmänen. “We see data sharing as a concrete tool to accelerate the circular transition.
“At the end of the Accelerator program, we will showcase and disseminate the program learnings throughout the Nordics. With these frontrunner cases and learnings, we hope to inspire Nordic companies and demonstrate the value of data sharing”.
