This is a pre-announcement for the upcoming call where Nordic Innovation is looking for a new generation of Nordic Scalers programs. The upcoming call provides feasibility funding for developing the program concept and/or for establishing new partnerships to form a viable Nordic program consortium.
The Application for the Call for Nordic Scalers program outlines will be open 17 August to 15 November 2020.
High impact and Nordic added value
We are looking for joint Nordic scale-up programs that have the potential to create high impact and Nordic added value for Nordic scale-ups. The programs should provide support for Nordic scale-ups in overcoming their growing pains.
Definition of scale-ups in this call
It is important to bear in mind that scale-ups are not startups. Scale-ups are companies growing from 10 to 5000 employees and beyond, having specific requirements for talent and skills, management and leadership, access to markets and customers and finance.
Startups or micro-sized companies should be outside the scope of the programs’ target group.
The Nordic Scalers programs can be of general nature or targeted at specific areas (industries/ verticals/ thematic areas), building on the strongholds of the Nordic ecosystem. The focus of the programs should be on competence building and networking.
We are looking for program consortia that show ambition, complementary strengths, relevant competences and a relevant track record. As we emphasise the significance of personal experience in running growth companies, consultancies should not take a prominent role in the program consortium. As a main rule, to be funded by Nordic Innovation it requires partners from a minimum of three Nordic countries.
Funding and timeline for the Nordic Scalers call
Nordic Innovation will provide feasibility funding for up to 5 x NOK 200 000 for program concept development and/or partner search. After a 2,5-month project period, the final set of Nordic Scalers programs will be selected and launched in February 2021. The Nordic Scalers programs will run for 2 years between 2021-2023.
The initiative is supported by the five national agencies in the Nordic region.
We are looking forward to your applications for the Call to be opened on 17 August 2020. Stay tuned for more information after the summer holidays!
