Application period: 1 June – 31 August 2017

Funding decision: 15 September 2017

Budget: Up to NOK 1,5 million

This funding opportunity is part of the Nordic Sustainable Cities project, which is one of six flagship projects under the Nordic prime ministers’ initiative Nordic Solutions to Global Challenges and is coordinated by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The main ambition is to strengthen the Nordic brand, build networks between key Nordic and key international stakeholders and boost export of Nordic products and services. It is expected that a new application period will open in Fall 2017 pending evaluation of this first round.

What activities can be funded

We will offer funding for joint Nordic workshops, seminars, exhibitions, trade fair pavilions or similar. It is possible to apply for funding for one event taking place before 2019. Both physical and digital activities can receive funding.

There are two funding categories:

  1. Smaller events or activities (up to NOK 100 000)
  2. Larger events or activities (up to NOK 500 000)

Nordic Innovation has identified North America, China, India as the most promising markets for effective joint Nordic activities. Therefore, activities targeting one of those markets or with a global reach will be prioritised. Projects must include partners from at least three Nordic countries, and no more than 50 % of the total budget can come from Nordic Innovation.
