Denmark celebrating it's Constitution Day

  • Published 05/06/2012
The day marks the anniversary of signing the Danish constitution in 1849, establishing Denmark as a constitutional monarchy, as well as the constitution from 1953 that was adopted on the same date.

The day is not a public holiday, but many workplaces and shops close at noon, and political  meetings are traditionally held on 5 June.

This day is also Father's Day in Denmark.
