  • 1.3.2004Art and Design Universities - Innovation Network (preparatory survey)

The purpose of this preliminary survey has been to review the current status of innovation activities of art and design institutions in the Nordic and Baltic region. First of all, the survey aims to highlight the innovation supporting services provided by the most important art and design universities in Nordic and Baltic countries. Secondly, the fact how design is integrated to the national innovation systems is analysed from each country’s point of view.

  • 28.2.2004Wood components in steel and concrete buildings

  • 28.2.2004Non-Destructive Testing Methods for Integrity Determination of Concrete Structures

Today, it is well recognised that methods that can be used to do assessments of existing structures without the need for destructive tests has the potential to become increasingly important tools as a part of work being invested to structures. The companies that offer these methods, however, experience difficulties to sell services that rely on such methods.
  • 28.2.2004Inclusion Engineering and Grain Size Control of Steels - INGROS

  • 25.2.2004Monitoring corrosion in district heating systems

Corrosion problems in district heating systems in the Nordic countries are rare. Nonetheless, corrosion is occasionally still responsible for leak problems and an important factor for process control and asset management. Thus, corrosion should be monitored as other important process parameters such as pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen.
  • 25.2.2004Nordic Biofibre network established

The Nordic Biofibre Network - Biofibre.net has so far created much better cooperation between Nordic industrial and academy actors in several bio-fibre branches.
