Horizon 2020 has officially started

Horizon 2020, the EU's new programme for research and innovation, officially began on 1 Januari 2014.

 

The first calls under the €80 billion programme were announced by the European Commission already in December. Worth more than €15 billion over the first 2 years, the 3 key pillars of the funding programme are excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges.

 

Horizon 2020 aims at boosting economic growth, creating new jobs, addressing the grand challenges and strengthening the EU’s global position in research, innovation and technology.
